Certifications

Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, Alexian Brothers Medical Center and St. Alexius Medical Center have been awarded Disease-Specific Care Certifications in several specialties by the Joint Commission. These include:

  • Chemical dependency
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Self-injury
  • Bariatrics (surgical treatment of obesity)
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Oncology
  • Stroke
  • Joint replacement
  • Acute myocardial infarction (heart attack)

Achieving certification signifies that the programs are meeting and/or exceeding national standards for quality and performance.

In June 2007, both Alexian Brothers Medical Center and St. Alexius Medical Center received re-certification as a Primary Stroke Centers for their care management of stroke patients.
