About Us

Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your therapeutic skills in a state-of-the-art mental health setting? The Clinical Training Program at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital prepares qualified graduate students for competent and skilled professional practice in psychology, social work, counseling, expressive therapies, dietetics, and nursing.
Our training in research-based cognitive, behavioral, and solution-focused therapies is a comprehensive and practical approach to mental health and chemical dependency issues. Diagnostic assessment, group and family therapy, and consultation round out our intensive training curriculum. We are affiliated with graduate schools and universities at the local and national levels and attract students from diverse professional disciplines to develop clinical acumen.
Predoctoral Psychology Internship
The psychology predoctoral internship is our most intensive training experience. We offer six full-time placements in the following major tracts:
- Neuropsychology/partial hospital (1 intern)
- Eating disorders/self injury recovery services (2 interns)
- Adult partial hospital/chemical dependency (2 interns)
- Child and adolescent partial hospital (1 intern)

Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital is a member of Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) and abides by their policies. We use all five sections of the APPIC Application for Psychology Internship (AAPI). To apply, you will also need to submit the following in the order listed:
- Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital application form
- Cover letter
- Vita (2 copies)
- Diagnostic writing sample
- Letter of readiness from DOT
- Three letters of recommendation (one of these letters must be from a supervisor of clinical practice)
- All graduate program official transcript/s
