Nursing Recruitment at Alexian Rehabilitation Hospital
About Us

to reach their full potential within their community. Partnering with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago we provide comprehensive rehabilitation services in our 66-bed acute rehabilitation inpatient hospital.
The average length of stay at Alexian Rehabilitation Hospital is 11 to 12 days, so our nurses are able to build relationships with patients and their families. Rehabilitation nursing can be challenging because patients and families are in the midst of a major life change. They may be stressed as they cope with new medical conditions and process an overwhelming amount of new information. You have the opportunity to provide needed support by:
- Encouraging a positive outlook on the rehabilitation progress
- Discussing and educating on options for treatment
- Motivating patients to participate in rehabilitation therapy and accomplish their goals
- Creating practical opportunities to practice new skills
Watching patients progress toward skill development and independence is truly rewarding.
Who do we treat?
We serve adult and geriatric patients that have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or have experienced changes in physical function and health that have resulted from an injury or disease. All patients have a significant neuromuscular-skeletal impairment that necessitates medical supervision. Rehabilitation nursing is an important component for potential improvement in functional goals including mobility, self-care, cognitive function, and communication.
