In 2007 we were awarded Certification of Distinction for our cancer services by the Joint Commission's Disease-Specific program.

We offer a comprehensive range of services for those with cancer, including nursing services, home infusion, telehealth, bridge to hospice care, rehabilitation services and a high tech pharmacy.
The Illinois Gamma Knife Center uses the latest and most sophisticated technology to treat a number of neurological conditions, including benign, malignant and metastatic tumors, as well as a number of other conditions. Gamma Knife is an extraordinary tool that reached deep inside the brain to treat areas that are inaccessible in traditional open surgery.
Our Interventional oncology procedures use image guidance and minimally invasive techniques to treat cancer in various organs of the body with minimal side effects.
Our extensive library collection includes books, literature, videos and music on subjects such as nutrition, coping, inspiration, humor, journaling, and more. We also have a computer with Internet access and a special CancerHelp computer that provides up-to-date cancer information (in English and Spanish) from the National Cancer Institute.
Our lung cancer screening is designed for smokers and those considered at high risk for developing lung cancer. We can screen your lungs to detect disease before symptoms are present, when treatment is most likely to be effective.
At Alexian Rehabilitation hospital our certified physical and occupational therapists are specially trained to treat men and women with either primary or secondary lymphedema. We customize each care plan to help you take charge of your lymphedema so you can continue to enjoy an active lifestyle.
With the guidance of our Certified MammaCare-trained specialists you will learn the techniques proven to be the most effective in breast care examination. We also offer training for healthcare professionals in Clinical Breast Examiner (CBE) Training and Certification, Breast Self-Examination (BSE) Instructor Training and Certification and Specialist Training and Certification.
The Me and My Mentor program pairs a cancer patient with a cancer survivor of the same disease who has been trained as a mentor by the American Cancer Society. Mentors provide on-going support and information during one's cancer journey. This support can be by phone, emails or in person, whatever is comfortable for the patient.
The Oncology Genetics Program provides risk assessment, education, counseling and testing, when appropriate, for patients and families at risk for developing breast, ovarian, colon, uterine and melanoma cancers.
Oncology Nutrition offers cancer-specific nutrition counseling for patients during and after their treatment at the Cancer Institute at Alexian Brothers Hospital Network.

Social Services are available to you and your family during your hospital stay as well as a wealth of resources to help you transition back home. We also offer counseling by our social workers on an outpatient basis.
The Cancer Institute treats malignancies of the chest, such as lung cancer, cancer of the esophagus, thymus and others with the latest technologies available for thoracic cancers.
